Wright Communications highly commended by PRINZ

After being named New Zealand’s small to medium PR Consultancy of the Year at the 2017 PRINZ Awards, Wright Communications has scored again at the annual PR industry awards, this time picking up a Highly Commended in the Medium/Large category.

Managing Director Nikki Wright said the highly commended award was highly pleasing as it was achieved during a period of sustained growth for the agency.

“Since 2017 more clients have come on board so we have almost doubled our consultant numbers. While we have moved from being a small consultancy to a medium/large agency, we have maintained the same high standards of professionalism and outstanding results for our clients,” she says.

Over the past year, Wright Communications has expanded its reach into the world of consumer PR in direct response to high demand from brand-owners wanting its support.  Three new hires and an affiliation with leading Australian consumer PR agency FORWARD has seen Wright quickly add a number of consumer clients to its portfolio in the first 12 months.

The consultancy set itself apart from its competitors early on with its focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which has become increasingly important for a number of its clients over the past 11 years, and a drawcard for many.

During that time, Wright has worked with some of New Zealand’s largest businesses on a variety of CSR projects, including CSR strategies, community investment reviews, sustainability reports and materiality assessments.

That said, it also provides full-service communications support from New Zealand SMEs to multi-national companies, local government bodies and charitable organisations.

Like all agencies, Wright Communications offers a broad range of consulting services: strategic communications and public relations; media relations, training and monitoring; social media strategy; sponsorship and awards leverage, and more.  Its unifying mission however is to guide clients along the transformative path towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Two local government experts undertake ongoing work for Auckland Council, ATEED and Auckland Transport, and an in-house automotive expert (including motor-racing) has won a number of awards in his field.

“We like to think we’re multi-faceted. We do beauty. We do high-tech manufacturing. We do legal. We even do surf life-saving. But the one thing that we do that makes us different is helping clients do the right (Wright) thing. That’s our thing,” says Nikki

In the first year of business Wright Communications became a team of four keen practitioners and today, it’s more than double that, with 10 consultants on board delivering quality outcomes for its valuable clients.

“Our senior team plus our external suppliers have impressive combined experience, which means there’s not a lot we haven’t seen and not a lot we can’t do.”
