Wright Communications named PR Consultancy of the Year again: 2021 PRINZ Awards

Auckland-based PR agency Wright Communications has been named PR Consultancy of the Year in the Medium to Large category for the second year running, at the 2021 PRINZ Awards.

Lauding the resilience of her staff and the support of the consultancy’s clients, Managing Director Nikki Wright says it was humbling to receive the PR industry award after a year dogged by COVID-19’s extraordinary challenges.

“We’ve always focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, actively seeking campaigns that strengthen the fabric of our society, and never was telling these stories more crucial to Kiwis’ wellbeing than in 2020,” she says. “We’re proud to work with organisations that support New Zealanders, champion diversity and safeguard the environment.”

Crisis management had been a key focus over the last 12 months, both for clients and the agency itself. Like its industry peers, Wright Communications had to navigate lockdowns, set up remote working technology best practice, and retain clients. Nikki Wright says the innovative solutions created by her team ensured a seamless adaptation that didn’t compromise the standard of service upon which the agency’s reputation is built.

“We proved our importance during lockdown,” she says. “Our two largest retainer clients actually invested more with us over that time.”

Although delighted by the recognition it has received by its industry peers, the agency doesn’t plan to sit on its laurels. Wright Communications will continue working to mitigate challenges the public relations industry currently faces, particularly issues around diversion and inclusivity.

“This is a major priority for us,” Nikki Wright says. “We believe we can do better in our own organisation and, through that, inspire our industry peers.”

The constant striving to improve is a big part of the reason why Wright Communications enters the Award.

“Yes, the kudos that comes with winning are nice and support our aim of becoming a destination employer and alerting potential clients to our areas of expertise,” she says.

“But the true value for us lies in benchmarking and receiving useful feedback from the judges to help us plan and improve our overall offering even more.”

She wishes to congratulate other Award finalists and category winners.

“We’re all moving forward together, the standard is higher and the competition’s stiffer every year—and that’s great for our industry,” she says.
