Successful Scriptor Series wraps up with Foreman

Event organisers, Epsom Girls Grammar School Old Girls Association (OGA), joined forces with Paper Plus to present the Scriptor Series to showcase authors and promote writing.

EGGS OGA Co-President Kathryn Seagrave says the association and the school were motivated to promote the value of the arts.

"The Scriptor Series events are an opportunity to present talented authors to the public. They are a fantastic opportunity for the local community to hear from amazing Kiwi women," she says.

Seagrave says the series was a success as local book clubs marked the events in their calendars for a great night out and so many turned out despite the Auckland weather.

"We were delighted to host this year's line up of incredibly talented speakers. It was great to have the partnership of Paper Plus, the support of the Food Snob and access to the modern facilities of the Raye Freedman Arts Centre. We also valued the support from the students of the EGGS Writers' Club."

Seagrave and the OGA are excited to continue the tradition of bringing the arts to the community and are already planning for 2016.

The Scriptor Series saw the following authors, chefs and business women share their stories, insights and diverse knowledge with the students and the community.

  • Well-known Kiwi comedian, columnist, social commentator and author Michele A'Court (29 April)
  • New Zealand Master Chef winners, sisters Karena and Kasey Bird (25 May)
  • Internationally acclaimed and award-winning author, Patricia Grace DCNZM, QSO (17 June)
  • Leading entrepreneur Diane Foreman (2 September)
