SKYCITY Breakers show talent extends beyond basketball to help good cause

In addition to that, several Breakers players have indulged their artistic side teaming up with CanTeen member Jessica Hamilton to come up with draft bandanna designs for consideration as part of CanTeen's annual appeal, Bandanna Challenge.

CanTeen now wants the public's help to select the winning SKYCITY Breakers design, which will be produced as one of five bandannas for this year's Bandanna Challenge which will be held from 13-29 September.

The designs will be launched at the Breakers versus Adelaide 36ers game at Vector Arena this Thursday.

If you can't attend the game, everyone will have an opportunity to check out the final designs and cast their vote on the SKYCITY Breakers' Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NZBreakers). Voting opens from 7pm on Thursday, 28 February and will be open for a week, closing at midnight on Thursday, 7 March.

CanTeen National Marketing Manager Kimberley Waters says the organisation is thrilled to have the support of our national basketball team, who are wonderful role models for its members to look up to.

"We're excited to have the SKYCITY Breakers onboard with this year's challenge and hope basketball fans across the country vote for their favourite design and wear it with pride at games come September."

The Breakers join CanTeen Ambassadors Daniel Carter and Maria Tutaia, who will also be creating this year's designs in collaboration with CanTeen members.

"If you're in Auckland this Thursday, we encourage you, your friends and family to attend the game as it's a great night out, plus you'll also be supporting a valuable cause," says Ms Waters.
