Several Breakers players indulged their artistic side and teamed with CanTeen Patient Member Jessica Hamilton to come up with two draft designs. The two designs are now available for public voting on the SKYCITY Breakers' Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NZBreakers).
Voting will close at midnight on Thursday, 7 March. The winning design will be included in the line-up for this year's Bandanna Challenge, which will be held from 13 to 29 September.
CanTeen's National Marketing Manager Kimberley Waters says the Breakers have been very enthusiastic in coming up with some awesome designs and the organisation is thrilled to have the support of one of the country's successful sports team.
"It's exciting to have the SKYCITY Breakers take part in this year's annual appeal by creating a bandanna design and it's been fantastic watching the team and Jessica go through the process to get to the final two designs."
The bandanna's both feature Koru designs and the colour blue which appears on the team's uniform. A basketball features on one of the designs with a map of New Zealand, while a basketball net and ball and the words 'One Team' are the focus of the second design.
"We're keen for the New Zealand public to have their say, so please go online and make your vote count. Encourage your friends and family to do the same," says Ms Waters.
CanTeen Ambassadors Daniel Carter and Maria Tutaia will also be creating designs for this year's collection in collaboration with members.
