Sacred Hill cellar door open for Sundaze in January

Sacred Hill Vineyards and classic country pub The Puketapu have joined forces for Sundaze - wine, food and music in the Bay's beautiful Dartmoor countryside.

This is the first time in some time that Sacred Hill's cellar door has been open to the public without prior appointment - and it is as breathtaking as ever, amongst the established trees and gardens at the original winery site.

Managing Director, and one of Sacred Hill's founders, David Mason says he's relishing the opportunity to welcome visitors to Sacred Hill's spiritual home for Sundaze.

"At Sacred Hill we make wines to be enjoyed with food, family and friends - we've always loved welcoming people here so it's great to be opening the doors again with our great friends at The Puketapu."

The Puketapu's popular chefs will create delectable, well priced country lunches using the freshest local produce, matched with Sacred Hill Orange Label, HALO and Special Selection wines. Beers, cider and soft drinks will also be available.

Owner of The Puketapu Mary Danielson says visitors will be tempted by a line up of delicious luncheon offerings, including wood fired pizzas and sliders.

"Think pork belly with pickled cabbage and maple mustard, chargrilled venison steak with caramelised onion, and even alpaca burgers. We're aiming for delectable, fresh dishes packed with local flavours for a laid back Sunday lunch."

Each Sundaze event will feature a different live music act to relax or dance to. Hawke's Bay jazz trio Men in Black, Ice Fire, JR Guitars and The Mr Rick Toner are all in the line up.
