Closing Message

In the lead up to Super Saturday we would ask media to add the following message to the end of vaccination stories where possible:

For Information About Super Saturday

The COVID Vaccination Healthline team are standing by to support people to get ready for the big day. They can help:

  • Locate where to get vaccinated
  • Problem solve transport issues
  • Answer any question that people are curious about – don’t hold back, nothing is off the table, talk to someone who knows
  • Advise on sites that have mobility assistance, arrange sign language interpreters etc
  • Support people with needle anxiety

Call the COVID Vaccination Healthline team 0800 28 29 26 for free advice 8am-8pm (and to midnight on Saturday 16 October). Extra staff are on board to get people ready.

Media interviews and site visits available

The COVID Vaccination Healthline team has more than 1,800 kaimahi (staff) throughout Aotearoa and is run by Whakarongorau Aotearoa, the social enterprise that also runs Healthline. Since it was set up in mid-February 2021 the service has answered over 1.4 million calls.

In the lead up to Super Saturday we need people to start to take action including:

  • Calling if they have a curiosity, question or hesitancy about vaccination
  • Calling to find out where and when they get vaccinated in their community
  • Calling to get transport assistance on the day.

To help make the day a success and increase awareness, the service is opening up to media in the leadup to the day and on Saturday 16 October:

  • Whakarongorau Aotearoa Chief Executive Andrew Slater is available for interviews.
  • News media are welcome to visit COVID Vaccination Healthline facilities – located in Northland, Auckland CBD, Otara, Rotorua, Hastings, Wellington and Christchurch.
  • Any news media idea to promote Super Saturday will be supported if possible.
