‘Heavenly’ Sacred Hill HALO Sauvignon Blanc 2013 released

By Wright Communications

Winemaker Tony Bish describes the wine as 'summer heaven from beginning to end'.

"The superb weather conditions and fruit quality of the vintage are well documented," Mr Bish says. "But each round of new releases from 2013 adds further dimensions to the overall vintage quality."

HALO wines, named after the distinctive halo in Sacred Hill's logo, are known for their elegance and complexity. This wine showcases all the famous Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc characters enhanced by rich layers of texture and depth.

"It is the result of the outstanding 2013 fruit, selected in small parcels from our best Marlborough vineyards, and a light touch of old world winemaking technique," Mr Bish says.

"We craft our HALO range to bring premium wines into everyday enjoyment. What you get in the bottle is a genuine reflection of the land where the fruit is grown and the magnificent vintage."

Sacred Hill HALO Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013 A Sauvignon Blanc to savour. Light greenish, straw colour. Lively tropical aromas of guava and melon gently mingle with citrus blossom, dried hay and a light herbaceousness. A vibrant palate with good entry, fleshy mid and a crisp acidity providing satisfying length. Summer heaven from beginning to end.

Food Match White Bait Fritters: Beat 2 eggs well and fold into 500g of freshly netted whitebait. Add a wee pinch of curry powder and season to taste. Fry in butter, sizing to your liking until cooked on each side. Butter 2 pieces of white bread. Add fritter and a squeeze of lemon juice and additional seasoning to your liking. This should make 10 - 12 good sized fritters. For something more simple, try some pan fried snapper with a fresh green salad.

Sacred Hill HALO Sauvignon Blanc is available at wine merchants throughout New Zealand and has a recommended retail price of $24.99.
