For Forsyth Barr
Forsyth Barr will bring its full range of financial services and expertise to Wanaka following the acquisition of Aspiring Wealth Management, a Wanaka-based investment advisory business.
Aspiring Wealth Management was established by Ben and Hamish Taylor in 2006. The business is now run by Ben, who will continue to support clients in his role as an investment adviser. The Aspiring Wealth Management team will join Forsyth Barr on 1 April and will be the 22nd office in the Forsyth Barr network.
Forsyth Barr Managing Director Neil Paviour-Smith said the company is excited to have someone of Ben’s calibre and experience to lead the Wanaka office and looks forward to welcoming Aspiring Wealth Management’s existing clients to the firm.
“Ben has a wealth of experience in providing investment advice and portfolio management. He and Hamish built a very strong business in the broader Central Otago region, and we know his clients will continue to benefit from Ben’s insight and investment management, backed by the expertise and breadth of Forsyth Barr,” he said.
Ben graduated Otago University with a Bachelor of Law and Arts and has been working as an investment adviser for the past 14 years. He works with a range of private, charitable and trust clients and provides advice, with a particular focus on investment strategy, to help them navigate financial markets and best achieve their investment goals.
Ben is currently a trustee of Te Kakano Aotearoa Trust, a charitable trust that is involved in local native plant habitat restoration projects. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors. Ben is married to Debra and has four children, but still finds time to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Wanaka offers including skiing, mountain biking, windsurfing and running.
