By Wright Communications

The appeal of this modern sedan has been heightened with more convenient technology and exterior refinements for the upgraded Camry, Camry Hybrid and Aurion vehicles arriving from July onwards.

"Meeting the EURO5 emissions standard is a positive development for Camry allowing it to align with the needs of key business, fleet and private buyers," said Spencer Morris, Toyota New Zealand's General Manager of Product.

The top of the petrol range Camry Atara SX's sporty styling has been enhanced with new 18 inch black and polished silver alloy wheels, offset by red accents on the lower front grille and rear diffuser and a silver plated boot garnish. A feature that will be complimented by the newly introduced exterior colour, Cherry, available across all Camry, Camry Hybrid and the Aurion Sportivo ZR6 models.

A power rear sun shade has been added to the Camry Atara SX, while the instrument cluster on the Atara S and Atara SX gain a 4.2 inch colour multi information display unit. The Atara SX also gains satellite navigation and moving guidelines for easier reversing.

Camry Atara S, SX and Camry Atara S Hybrid models receive front clearance sensors, while the Atara SL Hybrid gains the added benefit of a QI wireless device charger.

All Camry, Camry Hybrid and Aurion models now come with ISOFIX fittings for the outer rear seats to improve child car seat installation.

The Aurion range turns its focus to the AT-X and the flagship Sportivo ZR6, with the mid- range Sportivo SX6 bowing out from the lineup.

The Aurion features new black alloy wheels fitted to the ZR6 and inside the cabin the steering wheel and gear shift lever on the AT-X are now leather covered. The driver's electric seat

adjustment and drivers outside mirror on the ZR6 now have a memory mode for added convenience.

Other changes to the Aurion include LED fog lights, LED low beam and Halogen high beam headlights with automatic levelling on the ZR6. The ZR6 also gets reverse tilt for the driver's

outside mirror. While added safety equipment on the ZR6 extends to a blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.

The 2.5-litre petrol engined Camry has an overall fuel consumption of 7.9-litres/100 kms with emissions of 183 g/km, while the Camry Hybrid features a four cylinder 2.5-litre engine which operates in conjunction with an electric motor for a combined consumption of 5.2 litres/100 kms and 121 g/km.

The 3.5-litre Aurion V6 is rated at 9.3 litres/100 kms and 215 g/km.
