Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development
The brief
With a number of major events projects at critical stages the Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development (ATEED) Corporate Relations Team was short handed and contracted Wright Communications to bolster the team's resources, lead stakeholder communications and manage risks on these key projects - Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines, 2014 ITM 500 (V8 Supercars) and ALK The Show Never Stops domestic tourism campaign.
The Wright approach
Wright Communications assigned Simon Roche, one of its local government specialists to work within the Corporate Relations team and on the marketing communications workstream for each project to deliver the required outcomes. Wright Communications developed and implemented comprehensive stakeholder management plans for each key project. Targeted communications were developed and delivered to key stakeholders. All project stakeholders were informed about and engaged in the projects. Wright Communications provided an independent PR viewpoint in the identification, regular review and mitigation of project risks.
"Simon has provided ATEED with high quality communications and stakeholder engagement support across a range of projects since September 2013. His political acumen and familiarity with local government has proven to be a real asset, enabling Simon to seamlessly slot into a number of work programmes and add immediate insight and expertise. He is well regarded throughout the organisation for his ability to produce clear and well-considered communication materials and his surefooted and calm demeanour has been a real fillip when project deadlines have loomed. We look forward to working with Simon on future projects." Steve Armitage
