Adrenalin Forest
The Brief
Adrenalin Forest is an aerial obstacle course located in the Bombay Hills, Auckland. Like many small tourism operators across the country, the established adventure park took a severe hit to its revenue off the back of Covid-19.
Wright Communications was tasked with exposing Adrenalin Forest to a wide audience of individuals, fitness communities, influencers and media in the Auckland region to drive climbers to Adrenalin Forest parks over the summer period.
The Wright Approach
Wright Communications executed a media and influencer event, media outreach to secure coverage in relevant publications, influencer outreach to secure continued social coverage, connected with surrounding businesses through giveaways, and provided methods of engaging with various audiences in the future.
Due to Wright Communications’ existing relationships with media and influencers, an impressive guest list was created for the event, resulting in 65 individuals attending a day of exciting high ropes climbing. Wright Communications co-ordinated appropriate catering for the event, and organised a photographer who was willing to climb high to capture spectacular images of the participants. Wright Communications hosted the event on the day, ensuring everyone had a fun, enjoyable, hassle-free day – encouraging social media posts on the day from influencers, and organising post-event coverage for the media in attendance.
Wright Communications liaised with media in the days after the event to secure coverage for Adrenalin Forest in relevant publications, clipped all social influencer coverage from the event, and followed up with all attendees to share an album of professional photos taken at the event – prompting many more social media posts in the days and weeks after the event.
Outcomes
The Adrenalin Forest event was a huge success, with media and influencers sharing their day of fun on social media platforms with thousands of engaged followers. The feedback Wright Communications received from those who attended was extremely positive, with many commenting on how much fun they’d had, how challenging the course was, and how they’ll be returning over summer to bring other friends/family members along.
NZ Herald and Stuff.co.nz articles were published, showcasing the Adrenalin Forest course through pictures and video to audiences of 1,804,000 and 1,947,000 respectively – the two biggest platforms for reaching Kiwis that are on offer in New Zealand. Coverage was also gained in MiNDFOOD and The Urban List – two very influential publications in the travel/activity space, with reaches of 205,000 and 432,000 respectively.
Wright Communications distributed Adrenalin Forest vouchers to the influencers and media that were not able to attend on the day, ensuring continued social coverage for Adrenalin Forest over the coming summer months. Giveaways of Adrenalin Forest double passes were also arranged with F45 Pukekohe and Spookers, leveraging the social media followings of these businesses.
“The challenge for tourism operators at the moment is to future-proof their businesses. I’ve been impressed with Wright Communications’ strategic advice and ability to untap new marketing channels for my tourism business, which is essential as we move forward into unchartered territory. I feel very well supported by Megan and Jess, and they have great connections with social media influencers and traditional media outlets to promote my business to new customers. Highly recommend this service.”
