Defect: The Battery compartment on the thermometer (lot number: 5216) is not adequately secured, allowing access to the button battery inside.

Hazard: If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.

What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the thermometer and return it to any branch of the retailer from which it was purchased. The retailer will provide a full refund.
