New luxury lifestyle magazine attracts quality advertisers

By Wright Communications

Advertisers including Emirates, The Hilton, Luxury Real Estate New Zealand, Cavit & Co, and Mount Difficulty Wines have come on board for the first 48-page edition, which will be in Corporate Cabs' 400-strong nationwide fleet from Friday and then every two months.

ME Magazine has secured Susana Sarmiento as its fashion editor, and plans to secure more high profile editors including a celebrity chef for its food column. The first edition has an exclusive interview with entrepreneur William Goodfellow, and also an interview with Glenfield's finest export, Rachel Hunter.

Corporate Cabs chief executive Colin Samson says ME is an exciting milestone: "This is the first lifestyle magazine produced by a cab company in New Zealand and we are proud of its quality."

"We already provide reading for clients who want to escape from their busy day while they travel with us, and we think ME will give people a fantastic excuse to sit back in comfort and unwind with entertaining and informative content."

"Nobody likes to have to put down a magazine half way through an article, so clients can take ME away to read at their leisure."

Corporate Cabs services Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, and its clientele each month include about 20 per cent overseas visitors.

Editor Naomi Lindsay says ME Magazine's writers will cover everything from food to super yachts, travel to fashion, and art to entertainment. There will be celebrity interviews, articles on luxury vehicles, technology and design, and columns featuring wine and restaurants.

"I have high hopes for ME Magazine as a unique, successful high-end publication. We think it will grow steadily and appeal to a wide range of readers.  At the end of the day, life should be all about ME!"

The magazine is published by Charlotte Carlyle Wilson, director of The Marketing Dept, which also publishes high-end tourism magazine Recommend New Zealand. The advertising director is Catherine MacKay, who has worked on top selling magazines and the New Zealand Herald.
